Why are most Maltese flags flying on public buildings in such a disgusting state? Where is our sense of national pride?

A case in point is the flag flying on top of the Water Services Corporation building in Luqa, with the white a dark shade of grey, and the edge to the fly is all frayed. This flag should never be flown in its present state. Also, the flag on top of the Education Ministry is a dirty rag.

Surely, whoever is responsible should see that the national flag is clean and flown with pride. It just shows how careless we are. I have never seen such neglect and disrespect for the national flag as I have seen in Malta. I am sure that foreign visitors will get a very bad impression of our country when they see dirty flags flying. If the Maltese flag flying from Auberge de Castille is in a good condition there is no reason why those flying from other public buildings cannot be.
