Rockestra
A number of direct and extended bus services are being organised for people attending this year’s Rockestra events, Malta Public Transport said.
These services will be available at the price of a regular bus ticket and will operate on September 27 and 28.
On September 27, routes 202, 203 and X3 will be re-routed to serve Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre in Ta’ Qali throughout the day.
Bus services on all these routes will be extended until 11.30pm. The same bus services will continue serving the MFCC through September 28 until 10pm.
On both days, Malta Public Transport will also operate direct buses from Valletta to the MFCCand from Ta’ Qali back to Valletta.
On September 27, the direct buses will operate between 5.30 and 7pm and the return buses between 10.30 and 11.30pm.
On September 28, the direct services will be available between 3.30 and 5pm with return services between 10.30 and 11pm.
Science in the City
Malta Public Transport will also be operating a special bus service for those attending Science in the City on September 26, between 6pm and midnight.
Direct buses will be available from Valletta to all localities (as listed below) with two trips on each route departing at 11.30pm and 12.30am.
€3 tickets for the special bus services will go on sale in the coming days and will be valid for an entire day of bus travel (commuters can use them to board any bus on September 26 as well as the special bus services after the event).

Malta Public Transport will also be operating extended hours at the Floriana Park and Ride, which will remain open until 1am.
Park and Ride mini-bus services will be operating frequent trips to the Valletta bus terminus throughout the evening.
Normal parking rates of 40c per vehicle will apply, including return transport for the driver and passengers.
Malta International Airshow
A direct bus service from Valletta to Ħal Farruġ will be operated on September 27 and 28.
The direct airshow bus services will take bus passengers from Valletta to the entrance of the event via the Marsa Park & Ride, operating an hourly service on both days.
The services will start from Valletta at 9am, with a last last trip departing from Ħal Farrug at 7pm.
No special bus tickets are required to board the direct airshow buses and commuters can make use of their usual day or week ticket, as well as their saver cards. Passengers will also be able to purchase their ticket on the bus when boarding, at the regular bus fares.
