China's Ding Junhui went out of the world championship in the second round on Monday night but his time will come, according to his conqueror Shaun Murphy.

Ding suffered a 13-10 defeat at the hands of Murphy and although much was expected of the Chinese, who won the UK Championship this season and finished runner-up in the China Open, he failed to kick on after the match resumed at 8-8.

"It was a long match and I lost my concentration in the last few frames," Ding told reporters.

"He's a very good player and you can't give him any easy balls because he never gives up."

Murphy, a former world champion and runner-up last year, praised Ding.

"I remember Ding when he first came over to the UK and I've been privileged to see him develop into one of the best players in the world," Murphy said.

"He has the game to win this tournament, but I think there's an unfair pressure on him and I'd like to see that change.

"There's massive expectancy on the poor lad's shoulders and I think it's unfair on someone so young. I think he needs to be given a break because it's not helping him."
