A French designer label is hoping that for the ultra-rich, even a simple plastic bag can serve as a status symbol.

Luxury brand Celine last month unveiled a branded plastic bag during Paris Spring/Summer 2018 fashion week, and the bag has now made its way to a Nordstrom popup store in the USA. It is a limited edition item and will only be sold in a few stores across North America.
Its price? A bargain $590 (€480).
The bag - a transparent piece with the Celine logo and choking hazard warning printed on it - is reportedly made of thick vinyl and can be reused for your weekly grocery shopping.
Whether you would want to risk tearing a $590 bag at your local supermarket is another story.
