Nature Trust (Malta) is calling for volunteers to give a helping hand in a clean-up around the Xrobb l-Ghagin Nature Park in Delimara on Saturday.

The event is being organised in collaboration with Marsaxlokk Local Council, the Ministry of Resources and Rural Affairs and HSBC.

It said that some irresponsible people recently dumped rubbish in the area; waste was strewn along the road leading to the park and along the coastal zone. The aim is for the clean-up to cover the Tas-Silg area, all the way to the entrance of the Xrobb l-Ghagin park, and if enough volunteers participate, the rubbish at St Paul's Battery in the area will also be tackled.

Gloves and bags will be provided. Participants were urged urged to wear closed shoes  and take plenty of water, sunscreen, and antiseptic gel/wipes.

The event starts at 9.30am and the meeting place will be the entrance to the Xrobb l-Għaġin Nature Park (past Island Sanctuary).

Parking spaces will be available inside.
