Spanish winger Pedro is used to stiff competition, having started his top-flight career at Pep Guardiola's Barcelona team before moving on to Jose Mourinho's Chelsea.

But the pacy attacker has clearly had enough of competition at a national team level, telling the press that he wasn't sorry for having publicly complained about a lack of playing time during Euro 2016.

Spanish coach Vicente del Bosque had previously said that the winger had apologised for the comments.

"I don't regret the comments, no," Pedro told reporters yesterday. "I spoke with Del Bosque. If you ask me what my future with the national team is, my answer is 'I don't know."

Pedro however moved to downplay the situation, saying that he was "very happy" to be part of the Spain team and that he was happy to abide by Del Bosque's decisions.

"I thank Vicente [Del Bosque], without him I wouldn't have achieved the things I have," Pedro said.

Spain play Croatia tonight in their final group game. Whoever wins the match will emerge top of Group D.
