In which Degreeplus unit did you enrol in the 2008-09 academic year?

I took up the unit related to student organisations, since I was an executive member of the University Students' Council, KSU.

Another unit I subscribed to and really enjoyed was music. I have been playing the violin for quite a long time, but I stopped going to music lessons due to my hectic schedule at University. However, Degreeplus gave me the opportunity to start attending violin lessons once again.

Do you intend to take up another Degreeplus unit?

Since I will be doing an international stage (traineeship) during my last year of the law course, I will not be able to take part in another Degreeplus unit.

How would you describe the overall Degreeplus experience?

Participating in Degreeplus was a rewarding and fulfilling experience that complemented my academic life at University.

Besides helping me acquire skills I would not have received in lecture rooms, Degreeplus contributed to my personal development, helped me become more disciplined and improve my time management.

All University students should do it.

In which Degreeplus unit did you enrol in the 2008-09 academic year?

Student organisations.

Do you intend to take up another Degreeplus unit?

I will not be participating in another Degreeplus unit; however, I have once again applied for the Degreeplus student organisations.

How would you describe the overall Degreeplus experience?

The Degreeplus student organisations is given as a recognition to those students who spend hours of their time being involved in student organisations. Contrary to other Degreeplus units, this is not dealing with new courses, and providing recoginition for 'extra work' that students undertake. Rather, it is now recognising the vast amount of work that has been done by those involved in student organisations through the years.

One does not have to register for this Degreeplus unit to do that 'something extra', but students in student organisations are given recognition for the work they do.

So the experience is nothing more than being in a student organisation (which I encourage students to do), which may mean lots of work but also lots of satisfaction.

The students also learn how to relate both with other students involved in the organisation, as well as with third parties.
