A number of dead mice were found in a retired magistrate's court office as it was being cleaned out, timesofmalta.com has learnt.

A dead mouse was initially found between the pages of a case file while court workers were cleaning the chambers of the magistrate, who retired recently.

The workers were cleaning the office to make way for the magistrate taking over the court room. When cupboards were being shifted, more dead mice were found in the office.

The room was sealed until pest control workers were brought in and the office cleaned out.
