Heritage Malta is organizing another edition of Life at Sea at the Malta Maritime Museum in Vittoriosa tomorrow (Sunday).

Heritage Malta is organizing another edition of Life at Sea at the Malta Maritime Museum in Birgu. The event will consist of a reenactment of life at Vittoriosa creek during the 18th century. There will also be military drills, a typical market, and other activities related to life at sea.

The museum workshops will be opened for the first time to the public and visitors will get the chance to see where and how the renovation of traditional Maltese boats and marine engines is carried out by the specialized technical staff. There will also be a special viewing of a number of traditional Maltese boats from the reserve collection including the sailing frejgatina and a regatta boat.

Visitors will be able to visit a Maltese tavern that would have existed in July 1798 when the French arrived in Malta and will have the opportunity to see a reenactment of the arrival of some of Napoleon’s soldiers at the tavern. There will also be reenactments from other periods and various activities for children throughout the day.

The event will take place between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tickets for the event cost €5 for adults and €3 for children, students and elderly people. The ticket is also valid for entrance to the Inquisitor’s Palace which is also found in Vittoriosa
