Nationalist MP David Agius has decided not to seek election to the post of PN general secretary.

He said this morning that although some people had urged him to contest, after consulting the party leader he decided to focus on his current party and parliamentary roles while being available for other tasks.

Mr Agius is the whip and secretary of the PN parliamentary group and Opposition spokesman for local councils.

The only contestant for the general secretary post so far is former Justice Minister Chris Said. The call for nominations closes at noon today.
