Norman Darmanin Demajo has been re-elected as Malta FA president for the next three years after beating Peter Fenech in today's election.

Darmanin Demajo, who has been at the helm of the association for the past three years after unseating Joe Mifsud in 2010, obtained 117 votes against Dr Fenech's 23 for the most emphatic of victories.

In the lead-up to the election, Darmanin Demajo pledged to focus on achieving growth and sustainability for the MFA and its club in the next three years.

Chris Bonett, Alex Manfre and Ludovico Micallef were elected as MFA vice-presidents for the period 2013-2016.

Dr Bonett, the head of the MFA legal department who was contesting the election for the first time, gained the highest number of votes, 101.

Manfre and Micallef were re-elected after polling 86 and 75 votes respectively.

Bartolo, the long-serving MFA vice-president, lost his seat after coming fourth in the election with 59 votes.

The two other candidates, Donald Spiteri and Peter Busuttil, obtained 48 and seven votes respectively.

Parliamentary Secretary Stefan Buontempo and PN sports spokesman Robert Cutajar congratulated the members of the new administration on their election.
