Readers might recall a letter I had sent to this newspaper (‘In the dark’, December 11, 2018) reporting it had taken Enemalta eight weeks to change a street lamp in Għar il-Lembi Street, Sliema. When the letter appeared, the bulb was replaced within 24 hours.

As a result of the storm of February 24, that is, six weeks ago, the same lamp was damaged. I reported the matter to the local council more than once but, until today, we are still in the dark.

Why does it have to take so long to replace a simple bulb? Is it Enemalta’s fault or the council’s? Action has to be taken immediately.
