A recital by soprano Lydia Caruana accompanied by Elizabeth Leonardi, took place at the Phoenicia Hotel, Valletta to mark Czech Republic's 90th anniversary.

A reception hosted by Czech Republic Ambassador Vladimir Zavazal and Hana Zavazalova followed, and was attended by President Eddie Fenech Adami, members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps and members of the Czech community in Malta.

Caruana performed song cyles by Haydn, Isobar, Rossini, Dvorak and Camilleri. Caruana also sang in Czech, Antonin Dvorak's Song to the moon (Rusalka).
