Czech music, art, business and politics dominated the discussion and scenes of Czech Days, an event held in Malta last month to commemorate the Czech EU presidency, which will be concluded at the end of June.

The Czech Republic's national day, which commemorates the Czech state's gaining of independence in 1918, and which is usually held on October 28, was this year celebrated in May on the occasion of the Czech presidency.

Vladimir Zavazal, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Malta, hosted a reception to mark the event at the main lounge of the Hotel Phoenicia in Floriana.

The reception was attended by President George Abela, various members of the diplomatic and consular corps, as well as government officials.
