The application process for cyclists to join this year’s Lifecycle challenge in August is now open.

Applicants need not have any previous experience as a full training programme is due to start soon.

The Lifecycle committee is also looking for physiotherapists, doctors, bike mechanics, drivers, cooks and general helpers to join the back-up team.

Lifecycle raises money for local renal patients. This year, it aims to raise enough to provide permanent transport to and from the hospital for renal unit outpatients, as well as make a donation to the Kidney Organisation to help fund research into cures.

This year’s route will see riders travelling over 2,000km from Prague to Sarajevo.
