A woman who allegedly stabbed her boyfriend after soiling clean bed sheets yesterday asked the court to lift the curfew imposed when she was granted bail, saying it prevented her from carrying out her duties as a mother.

This was the second such request made by Mandy Polidano, 24, of Żurrieq. Last month, the court refused to allow her to be able to stay out later than 11 p.m. so she could take her five-year-old son to Midnight Mass with his school friends and to his grandparents during the festive season.

In her application yesterday, Ms Polidano insisted the curfew was making it difficult for her to carry out her full duties as mother and partner in a stable relationship.

In February 2009, she was charged with his attempted murder by stabbing him following an argument over him dirtying clean bed sheets. Antoine Borg had forgiven her on the day she was arraigned and the couple live together.
