The Malta Financial Services Authority has warned that it cannot verify the details of a company operating under the name of Maltese Scudo, but that it poses high risks to investors.

The company has an internet presence at https://maltesescudo.com/ and claims to operate from an address in Malta, but the the MFSA expressed doubts about this.

One thing is certain: it does not have any MFSA licence and it not authorised under Maltese law.

From information available to the MFSA, Maltese Scudo appears to be a cryptocurrency linked investment program.

"Information available to the MFSA suggests that https://maltesescudo.com/ is likely to be a scheme of dubious nature with a high risk of loss of money. The public should therefore refrain from undertaking any business or transactions with the above-mentioned entity."
