A Royal Caribbean cruise ship touring the Bahamas was forced to return to port after a fire broke out on the aft mooring deck.

The Grandeur of the Seas was diverted to Freeport after the blaze. It was carrying 2,224 passengers and 796 crew members. No one was injured.

Some guests have remained in their cabins, while others with cabins near the site of the fire are staying in hotels while damage to the ship is evaluated.

The cruise ship industry has recently suffered from a spate of negative publicity after a string of incidents, including a norovirus outbreak on Royal Caribbean's ship, Vision of the Seas, in March.
