Croatia led Germany 1-0 at halftime in their Euro 2008 Group B match in Klagenfurt's Woerthersee stadium today thanks to a well-struck goal by Darijo Srna in the 24th minute.

With both teams giving little space in midfield and playing tight defences, Croatia tried to break the deadlock with crosses.

They succeeded when Danijel Pranjic curled in a cross from the left and Srna managed to get in front of defender Marcell Jansen to stab home from close range, leaving Germany keeper Jens Lehmann no chance.

Croatia, who also had Srna booked for a foul, came close to a second in the 30th minute but Niko Kranjcar's close-range effort flew over the bar.
