The Lakes Indoor Rowing Club held the Malta Indoor Rowing Championships for the fifth successive year. This time round, the championships took on a new twist as Crimsonwing staff joined forces to take part as two distinct teams in the men's and women's open.

Up against stiff competition - there were the reigning male and female champions - the Crimsonwing teams fared well with all participants performing their personal best for a good cause.

This year proceeds will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Society of Malta and also to Dar tal-Providenza.

The Crimsonwing People who Care Fund was also one of the main sponsors of the event. The fund has been set up since the beginning of Crimsonwing in Malta. Funds are collected each month in the form of a voluntary donation from Crimsonwing staff salaries.

The fund is managed and administered by a group of Crimsonwning employees who, twice a year, decide on the beneficiaries.

This year's prime donation was to the Arka Foundation in Gozo. Past donations have gone to good causes as diverse as the YMCA, Ir-Razzett tal-Ħbiberija, the Malta Hospice Movement, children's residential homes and the families of the victims of the Naxxar fireworks explosion.
