All 36 crew members of the Papua New Guinea-flagged Glory Pacific No. 8 are safe following a rescue at sea after the ship caught fire.

The 229-foot fishing boat was 2,071 miles southwest of Hawaii when the Lomalo, another fishing boat, pulled the crew to safety.

The Lomalo is based in the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and it will rendezvous with another ship from Papua New Guinea to transfer the Glory Pacific crew for transport back to land.
