Massimo Cremona enjoyed a positive debut with his new team Reggiana a few days ago as he helped the Serie A side to success in the International Open of Napoli.

Reggiana were in a class of their own, securing the title after beating hosts Napoli 4-0 in the final.

During the summer transfer market, Reggiana also convinced Spaniard Carlos Flores to join their ranks and now many reckon that the side from down south can win many honours this season.

In the group phase of the Napoli Open, Reggiana beat Fiamme Azzurri and Fighter B with an identical 4-0 score. In the last 16, Reggiana defeated Cosenza 3-1 and Black Rose Roma 3-0 in the quarter-finals. Up next for Reggiana were Cremona's former team Perugia who lost the match 2-1.

Another Maltese player, Samuel Bartolo, turned out for CCT Roma.

After comfortable wins over Cosenza, Phoenix and Fiamme Azzurri, CCT Roma crashed to Napoli (0-4) in the quarter-finals.

The second day of the Open was reserved for the singles competition.

Cremona advanced to the semis before losing his match to eventual winner Flores 1-3. This was a balanced encounter that could have gone either way with Flores scoring his third goal 15 seconds from time.

After starting his group commitments with a 1-1 draw, Cremona went on to win his next tie 6-0 to top his group. In a last 32 match, Cremona needed shoots to oust Vincenzo Riccio 2-1, after a 0-0 draw, before 1-0 wins over Stefano Buono and Massimo Bolognino earned him a place in the last four of the competition.

Bartolo reached the quarter-finals but lost on shoots to Saverio Bari 1-2 after a 0-0 stalemate.

The Roma player won his group after beating Silveri 3-0 and Maresca 3-1. In the KO stage, Bartolo had the better of Stato 4-2 and Di Vincenzo 1-0 before succumbing to Bari.

The title was won by Flores. In the final, he beat Portugal's Guimaraes 2-1.
