The Civil Protection Department in association with the International Ocean Institute is drawing up an educational programme on Tsunami.

The department said the aim of the programme is for the people to be better prepared for any natural disaster they may encounter, in Malta or while travelling abroad.

The programme will be coordinated with the Ministry of Education, the University of Malta, local councils and the AFM.

The stakeholders held a meeting today with the participation of Cherdsak Virapat, executive director of the international ocean institute. The meeting was presided by Home Affairs Minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici.
