The court this morning temporarily upheld request for a warrant of prohibitory injunction made by BetCo Holdings Ltd against the Gaming Authority and the Finance Ministry.

In its request, BetCo said it wanted to stop the Privatisation Unit from assigning licences and entering into concession or contractual agreements with Maltco, giving the company an exclusivity licence which was not included in the definition of the national lottery games according to the document “Call for tenders - Concession for the rights of the national lottery of Malta”, published last October.
