A 41-year-old man who last November threatened his wife with a gun was placed under a two-year probation order on condition he gets anger management treatment.

The man, whose name cannot be published by court order, had been charged with six counts. He admitted to assaulting and reviling his wife but pleaded not guilty to other charges, including threatening her with a firearm.

His wife had refused to testify as she decided to give her husband one last chance to reform himself and thus keep the family united. For the same reason, the woman had opted against letting her underage children testify against their father.

In her decision, Magistrate Doreen Clarke took in consideration the feedback from the probation officer, who noted that the accused had taken his anger management problem seriously.
