A court this morning dismissed an appeal by the Attorney General against the granting of bail for two men accused of murdering Mario Camilleri and his son Mario last year.

It also rejected a defence plea to reduce the bail deposit.

Jason Galea, 39, of Birżebbuġa and George Galea, 41, of St Julian’s had been granted bail against a deposit of €30,000 and a personal guarantee of €30,000 each.

They remain behind bars because they have so far been unable to produce the money.
