Between 2001 and up to June 30, the Magistrates' courts in Malta decided on 1,158 requests for annulment of marriage, while those in Gozo decided on 27.

Answering a parliamentary question by Anthony Agius Decelis (MLP), Justice Minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici said the figures did not show how many requests had been accepted. That information could be accessed from the Public Registry.
