The Ministry for Gozo will be offering a second series of courses in literacy and numeracy and other courses on agriculture at the University Gozo Centre premises, Xewkija. These courses are co-funded by the European Union through the European Social Fund.

The numeracy and literacy courses will seek to enhance the basic skills of illiterate/quasi illiterate people in Gozo through four courses, namely basic English, basic Maltese, basic numeracy and basic reading and writing skills. Each course will consist of 80 hours of tuition and will be delivered between March and June.

Courses in agriculture will seek to enhance the basic skills of those inclined to work and those already working in the agricultural sector. The courses to be offered include organic farming, soil conservation, rabbit production, sheep and goat cheese production, animal health and welfare, new standards and product quality and plant health and pathology. Each course will consist of 24 hours of tuition and four hours practical session.

These courses are being offered free of charge.
