Msida local council has been ordered to pay a motorist €2,142 after the Small Claims Tribunal found that damages caused to his car were caused by poor upkeep of a road.

The case was instituted by John Debono and his insurers Untours.

They claimed that an incident on March 22, 2013 took place because of poor upkeep of Triq H Calleja Schembri in Msida.

It was confirmed that the road fell under the responsibility of the local council. The council, however, did not appear before the tribunal.

No details of the incident were given.
