San Lawrenz Council in Gozo has renewed an appeal to the government to erect crash barriers at a dangerous bend where an accident can have disastrous consequences.
The bend is on the hill which leads from the village down to scenic Dwejra.
Only a two course perimeter fence separates the road from a steep drop and should a car go out of control at the bend, there is nothing to stop it plunging down the valley below.
The road was resurfaced some years ago.
The council in a post noted that hundreds of cars use the road every day. It said it has been asking the authorities to install crash barriers but there has been no reaction to date.
The road does not fall within its area of responsibility.
