The building known as Hannover in Cospicua will start to be demolished before the end of the year to make space for an affordable housing project.

This was said during a visit to the site this morning by Parliamentary Secretary Roderick Galdes.

The project will incorporate 65 units, most of them two-bedroomed, and a parking area for 115 cars. Open space will be increased by 850 metres.

Mr Galdes said he would be meeting all councils in towns and villages to be affected by social housing projects, to ensure negative impacts were mitigated and that the projects did not to lead to social exclusion.
