Italy’s Cosmos softball team will be in Malta between tomorrow and Tuesday to play friendly games against local team Tigers.

The matches are scheduled for Sunday at the Kordin Hockey Ground. These encounters will serve as an experience for most of the Maltese players and will also help to improve their skills.

Tigers are at the forefront in promoting the game on our shores, introducing various incentives for the team as well as undertaking development programmes with foreign clubs, particularly in Italy.

Recently, five of their players, Erica Xerri Mallan, Marie Mifsud, Elaine Formosa, Ariana Schembri and Anthea Fenech, along with coach Roberto Andolfi and club president Elaine Schembri, attended a training camp in Saronno.

The Tigers players were involved in some friendlies and also had the opportunity to practise using a pitching machine on a softball field, a new experience for most of them.
