Reference is made to the report "Security van driver interdicted", uploaded on timesofmalta.com on May 27 at 7.52 p.m.

The report incorrectly stated that:

* Dennis Attard had been asked by the police to justify the discrepancy between his present testimony and his previous one;

* Magistrate Doreen Clarke commented in her judgement that she could not believe Mr Attard that he was under shock or confused when he made his statement to the police and that she concluded that he had done so on purpose and not by mistake; and

* Magistrate Clarke consequently found Mr Attard guilty of the charges brought against him and declared him interdicted for five years.

These assertions had, in fact, been directed towards Martin Gatt, who was the person charged and found guilty, and not towards Mr Attard.

timesofmalta.com regrets the error and apologises for the inconvenience to Mr Attard.
