Following on from the success of the recent ‘Perfect Christmas Gift Fair’ at the Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa in Attard, over €2,500 will be going towards the holiday dreams of seriously-ill Maltese children.
Held on 9 and 10 December, the fair welcomed over 1,500 people into the hotel’s Christmassy atmosphere. From fun stocking fillers to stunning gifts made by talented local artisans, 61 stalls offered a plethora of choice for those on the hunt for ideal presents for their loved ones.
There was also a variety of entertainment showcased over the weekend, including art exhibitions, choir singing, live cooking sessions and floral demonstrations.
Additionally, the innovative Charles&Ron designer pop-up shop retailed its collection of couture and accessories, while the Corinthia Palace’s talented kitchen brigade served up a scrumptious selection of festive favourites.
“The hotel was booming with the hustle and bustle generated by the fair and its related activities, which also included performances by the Cisco Hungarian Band. We also enjoyed demos by renowned local choirs and pipe-bands, and popular Zumba classes,” says David Woodward, the general manager for the Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa.
“The aroma of mulled wine, warm chestnuts and other festive treats filled the air, combining well with a dazzlingly array of stalls selling wonderful and unique gifts. Patrons included local dignitaries, as well as a surprise visit by Santa and Mrs Claus.”
Of course, another key highlight was the funds raised for the hotel’s associated charity, Beyond the Moon. This international non-profit helps to give seriously-ill children the holiday of a lifetime and valuable time with their loved ones, in what could well be their last real vacation together.
The Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa plans to organise similar, charitable events in the near future.
