Canon Europe has launched a series of black and white multifunctional printers (MFPs) to deliver a cost-effective, print ready, 'entry-level' MFP solution for small businesses and corporate workgroups.

The new series features eight models of MFP which can be used as stand-alone devices or integrated on a corporate network.

The new series is designed to strengthen Canon's top position in the black and white printer market, and further establish Canon's move to a dual focus product strategy.

Small businesses that have basic print and copy needs often find that office multifunctional devices can be 'feature heavy' and expensive. Canon's new iR2018-30 range offers cost-effective MFPs that provide print, copy, scan, and fax functions in black and white. The devices are also able to send documents to multiple e-mail and network destinations in colour.

The new series now has faster output speeds between 18 and 30 pages per minute, and employs touch screen technology to enable users to operate the printers with greater ease. It also offers basic document finishing, which includes stapling.

"Canon recognises that smaller businesses need more compact and cost-effective quality printers," Paul Rowntree, European marketing manager, Canon Europe, said.

"Canon's new series offers small offices and their networks a more varied choice as they now have an even more comprehensive portfolio of products and solutions to match every business need."

The new Canon models are available from Canon's local agent Avantech Limited, 212 Cannon Road, St Venera (www.avantech.com.mt).
