If you would like to have an idea of what some members of the police force do when off duty, visit the display being held at the police headquarters in Floriana, which runs until Saturday.

Ranging from arts and crafts to vehicle restoration, the exhibition is part of a fortnight of celebrations marking the 194th anniversary of the corps.

Hand-painted models of police vehicles by Sergeant Joseph Urpani are among the exhibits. PS Urpani has been in the service for the past 22 years and has been in the mobile squad since 1991.

Also on show is a Lambretta 175 scooter, restored by PC Christopher Cutajar of Żabbar. The 1965 model took a year to restore with the help of generous friends.

Other activities being held over the next two weeks include a parade, which will feature the mounted section, the dog section and the precision drill teams, along with police vehicles.

The Hampshire police band from England will be performing on National Police Day in Valletta on Friday.
