Malta enjoyed cooler temperatures and windier days last month compared to the July average.

There were no exceptionally warm spells and the average temperature stood at 26.2°C, 0.4°C below the climate norm. The highest temperature peaked at 34.3°C on July 29, while the lowest was 19.8°C on July 17.

Malta saw a total of 11.8 hours of sunshine per day, 0.1 hours more than the average.

The brightest day was July 18 with the sun shining for 13 hours. The dullest day fell on July 26, which saw only 7.1 hours of sunshine. The total hours of bright sunshine for July tallied to 365 hours.

The average wind speed was 1.5 knots higher than average, blowing at 8.3 knots.

July’s warmest day ever was in 1988, when the maximum temperature reached 42.7°C. The highest wind gust ever measured at the Malta International Airport was 47 knots, recorded on July 2, 1954.
