Ronnie Azzopardi has been found guilty by a jury of the attempted murder of Jonathan Spiteri whom he shot five times in Marsascala in 2003. He hit him once in the shoulder.

The shooting was motivated by the murder of Jason Azzopardi, the brother of the accused, by Melchior Spiteri, the brother of the victim. Melchior Spiteri is serving a 30-year prison term.

Sentence will be delivered by Mr Justice Michael Mallia on Tuesday.
