The Libyan Customs authorities have seized a consignment of beer and wine allegedly smuggled into the country from Malta.

Libyan media said liquor was found hidden behind Pepsi cans in a container at the Port of Misurata.

The discovery was made on Wednesday. The container had been allegedly shipped from Malta. 21,468 bottles of contraband wine were found.

The discovery was made during search for drugs.
