Charlot Cassar will be presenting his latest collection of ceramic works at the Museum of Fine Arts, in Valletta.

The work presented in this second exhibition is exclusive and will include wall-hanging pieces and free-standing forms mostly inspired by the contours of landscape and natural rock formations, hence the title Contours.

Born in 1974, Mr Cassar has now been "potting" for the past 12 years. His artistic development is grounded in artistic discipline, having a first degree in art education.

Working mostly in stoneware clay that is fired to 1240°C, the artist has a predilection for wheel-thrown forms and slab work. He has participated in numerous collective exhibitions and his work is represented in various collections locally and abroad, including Alaska, Canada, Croatia, England, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Serbia and Spain.

The exhibition will be inaugurated on January 25 and will be open to the public from January 26 to March 4.

The artist can be contacted on charlotc@waldonet.net.mt.
