Sea Malta recently upgraded its container fleet through the purchase of 90 40-foot new dry van containers.

The addition was essential in order to meet both the increase in demand and also to replace some of the older equipment, Sea Malta chairperson Marlene Mizzi said.

Manufactured by world-renowned CXIC of Shanghai, the containers boast a number of superior features.

All the container fleet has been tested and certified 30-ton.

Ms Mizzi said the acquisition of this new fleet of modern containers follows Sea Malta's last year's investment in a number of new platforms.

"Sea Malta is conscious of the continuous emerging new needs of its customers and this investment was not only going to contribute to an increase in the versatility of Sea Malta's fleet but will also make it one of the most modern on the island",

"Moreover, conscious of the ever increasing competition in the market this initiative was another effort to retain the company's leading edge within the maritime industry in which it operates," Ms Mizzi added.
