The Malta Association of Social Workers has called for greater security at places where social workers provide their services.

In a statement, the association said it was concerned about recent cases where social workers were threatened or suffered physical or psychological violence.

It thanked the police where security was provided and called for greater security and tougher action against those who abuse.
