Newly-bought computers were stolen from St Augustine College primary school in Marsa over the Christmas holidays.

Informed sources said unknown persons had raided the computer lab of the college, taking computers bought last September at a cost of some €8,000.

The theft was noticed when members of staff went into the school to remove Christmas decorations and prepare classes.

A Magisterial inquiry is under way.
