A new classical Symphony No 2 Opus 048, has been published by Maltese composer Mark Pullicino.

The symphony, in four linked movements, begins with a unique base of chords, which give it an unusual edge, before reverting to traditional key sequences. An initial sadder melody develops into more uplifting sounds, the final movement is a summary of all the previous themes, which bring it to an eventful close.

The composer trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, whose RCS Music Lab ensemble have played several of his pieces in Glasgow. The University of Malta Department of Music have also supported his musical development.
