The Institute of Maltese Journalists (IGM) is organising a competition for Maltese artists to submit a trophy of their design to be considered for the annual Malta Journalism Awards.

The awards honour the commitment and skills of journalists in a number of areas, with the winner of each category receiving a trophy. The IGM Council wishes to have a new trophy to award to the winners of this year's edition.

Artists can submit up to three different designs.

The material to be used for the production of the trophy must be indicated with each design and, if appropriate, the colours to be used.

Each trophy must include the Institute of Maltese Journalists' logo and the words "Malta Journalism Awards". A prize of Lm200 will be awarded to the artist who submits the design chosen.

This design will become the property of the Institute of Maltese Journalists so that it can then have the trophies made for each category of the Malta Journalism Awards.

The Institute of Maltese Journalists commits itself to commission the artist to produce the trophies for all categories of the Malta Journalism Awards for the three years between 2005 and 2008, if it reaches agreement with the artist.

The designs to be submitted must be sent to: the Secretary, Institute of Maltese Journalists, PO Box 21 Marsa GPO 01. The closing date is May 15.
