Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said today that the government has engaged an international company to move the Individual Investor Programme forward.

The programme will be able to sell Maltese citizenship to eligible investors for €650,000. The government is targeting revenue of €30m in the scheme's first year.

Dr Muscat said the company, selected after a call for expressions of interest, would carry out due diligence.

There would be no discrimination between applicants, he said, adding that significant interest was already being seen.
