An Englishman who assaulted a number of police officers while drunk in Paceville on Friday was yesterday conditionally discharged for six months.

Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna heard 39-year-old company director Warren Terence Alcock plead guilty to assaulting and resisting police sergeants Valerie Farrugia and Vanessa Xuereb as well as police constables Paul Vella and Joseph Mifsud in Paceville early on Friday morning. He also admitted to disobeying police orders and disturbing the peace.

After hearing Mr Alcock apologising for his actions and that none of the police officers were injured, Magistrate Apap Bologna conditionally discharged him for six months.

Police Inspector Bernard Spiteri prosecuted while lawyer Robert Abela appeared for the defendant.
