• The feast of St Lucy will be celebrated today at the village that bears her name. Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will lead a Pontifical concelebration at 9 a.m. Solemn vespers will be sung at 4 p.m., followed by the procession with the ex-voto statue of St Lucy with the participation of the Leone Band. A thanksgiving Mass will be said at 6.30 p.m.
• Prince of Persia – The Sands of Time will be screened at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30 p.m.
• Padre Pio prayer groups in Gozo will be holding an advent retreat today. The Padre Pio group of Victoria is holding its monthly prayer meeting at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Graces, Victoria, on Friday at 5.30 p.m., followed by a get-together in the convent cloister.
• An ecumenical and socio-cultural event, entitled ‘Gozo international celebration – Christmas edition 2010’ will be held at St Joseph parish church, Qala, today at 6.30 p.m. The St Anne Choir of Marsascala, Fortissimo Brass, the Magnificat Choir, soprano Ruth Portelli, soprano Patricia Buttigieg and tenor Joseph Buttigieg will take part.
• A musical concert by theLaudate Pueri choir, under the patronage of the President and Mrs Abela, will be held at the Gozo Ministry tomorrow at 6 p.m.
• The Bishop’s Conservatory Secondary School presents Dear Santa, featuring acting, dancing and singing at the AuroraTheatre, Victoria, on Tuesday at 7.30 p.m.
• The Legion of Mary (Gozo) will be holding a Christmas carol service at Żebbuġ parish church on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served after the service. All denominations are welcome.
• The Kenn u Tama foundation, which helps children who need medical treatment abroad and which supports other social cases, will be organising an antiques fair at the Cittadella Crafts Centre, Victoria, from Thursday to January 9. Opening hours are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• The Għaqda Drammatika Għarb will present Is-Sultan ul-Kaptan at the Għarb parishcentre on Friday and Saturday at 7.30 p.m.
• The Bethel Charismatic Group will be holding a prayer meeting at the church of Our Lady of Pompeii, Victoria, onSaturday at 7 p.m.
• The Diocesan Eucharistic Movement will hold a prayer evening at the Don Bosco Oratory chapel on Saturday at 8 p.m.,followed by Mass at midnight.
• The Leone Grand Christmas Show, with the participation of the Leone Band, will be held at the Aurora Theatre on Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets at €5 are in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund.
• The Gozo School of Drama will be presenting its annual Christmas ballet concert at the Don Bosco Oratory on Saturday at 5.30 p.m. Tickets at €4 are available from the school office. Over 200 ballet students will take part.
• A celebration of joy, peace and love through music will be held at St Margaret parish church, Sannat, next Sunday at 6.30 p.m. Georgina Gauci (soprano), Jacob Portelli (harp) and the Cordia String Quartet will take part.
