• High tea in aid of Augustinian missionary in Brazil Fr Adeodato Schembri will be held next Sunday at Crystal Palace, Marsalforn, at 4 p.m. Entrance is free.
• An aid scheme in connection with static or mechanical cribs to be exhibited during Christmas was launched by the National and Regional Celebrations Committee within the Gozo Ministry. Anyone interested should complete an application form which can be collected from the culture office in Victoria. Applications should be returned to the Banca Giuratale, Victoria, by Friday at 4 p.m.
• Hill climb races, organised by the Island Car Club, will take place in Xagħra today between 7 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. 8th September Avenue will be closed during the races. Those wishing to enter Xagħra by car should use the entrances from Mielħa, Għajn Damma, San Marzjal streets or Sellum Street.
• Dar Ġużeppa Debono will be marking its 25th anniversary with a conference ‘I am my Body:Towards the Theology of the Body’ at the Grand Hotel, Għajn-sielem, next Saturday and Sunday. The main speaker will be Prof. George Woodal from the Pontifical Academy for life within the Holy See. Other speakers will be Gozo Bishop Mario Grech, Fr René Camilleri, Margaret Spiteri, gynecologist Sandra Cortis and Roderick Bugeja.
