• Xewkija celebrates the feast of St John the Baptist today with concelebrated Mass by Mgr Mario Grech at 8.15 a.m. The Victory and Ite Ad Josef bands will play marches in the streets at 11. Mgr Anton Refalo will lead a solemn Mass at 6.15 p.m. The procession starts at 7.45 and ends at 10.45 p.m., with the antiphon and a sacramental blessing. The Precursor and La Stella bands will also participate.

• A special Mass for youth, led by Fr Joseph Magro, OFM, will be said today at 11 a.m. at St Anthony's church, Għajnsielem. Songs will be performed by the Ignite band. A spiritual sketch on the Gospel is prepared, and a liturgical dance will be organised.

• The liturgical feast of St Peter and St Paul is being celebrated at Nadur Basilica on Tuesday. Bishop Mario Grech leads a concelebrated pontifical Mass at 9 a.m., followed by the presentation of the Golden Heart award. The De Rohan band, of Żebbuġ, and St Helen band, of Birkir-kara, will play popular marches at 11.30 a.m. The procession with the statue of the saints, led by Nadur's new archpriest, Mgr Jimmy Xerri, accompanied by the Mnarja band, begins at 8 and ends at 10.30 p.m. The Precursor and Santa Margerita bands will also participate.

• The Gozo CCU Foundation is holding a concert 'Under The Stars' at Ta' Frenċ on July 4. For tickets, call Carmen on 7956 6496, Nickie on 9905 9653 or Sharyn on 7932 0031. Music will be provided by the Big Band Brothers.

• The Bethel Charismatic Group will be organising a prayer meeting at the church of Our Lady of Pompeii, Victoria, on Saturday at 7 p.m.

• A 'Poetry on Gozo' meeting is to be held on Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the Circolo Gozitano at 6 Sir Adrian Dingli Street, Victoria. Poetry on Gozo aims to be an informal podium for poets living in or visiting Gozo to recite their work to an interested audience. All languages are welcome, but a summary should be given in English. The same applies for songwriters. Entrance is free.

• The Gozitan Graduates Movement invites graduates and members of all professions in Gozo (including couples) for first Friday Mass in Maltese, said by Fr Emmanuel Cordina, Oasi Foundation director, at St Augustine's church, Victoria, at 8.30 p.m.
